Welcome to Minnick Education Centers
Potential. Opportunity. Success. These three words define our vision for the children we serve at Minnick Education Centers. A caring, highly trained staff works closely with local school divisions and community agencies to provide academic and behavioral instruction for young people with complex needs who are not succeeding in traditional public schools. Therapeutic support and special programs round out our services, which help children ages 5 through age 22 make the transition back to public school or the setting where their needs will be best met.
All schools offer a curriculum that is aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning, as well as a unique and nurturing environment in which to learn the life skills that help students succeed in school, in their family and in the work place.
With locations in Roanoke, Wytheville, and Harrisonburg that serve 24 Virginia school districts, we seek to create a regional resource for special education students, their families and the educational community throughout the Commonwealth. Minnick Education Centers are managed by Lutheran Family Services of Virginia.
